Artist StatementLynn Mahoney's Personal Statementhaving always lived the work, and being pleased with a piece when it feels believable and accessible to all, it's good to see children and adults touching and feeling the coldness of the metals used. The work is mainly designed for the garden, the work to evolve with its environment. Working with sheet and reclaimed copper loving it’s malleable nature, not trying to hide the making processes it has to be honest work, showing the seams and braze, accepting it all as part of it’s make up. Copper is beautiful outside. The dream of seeing a field of copper butterflies and dragonflies swaying in amongst long grasses, or a troop of ostriches bolting out of a woods. | |
